Why This Project Is Important

“As a native speaker of Arabic, I enjoy listening to certain Quran reciters, not only because of their amazing voices, but also because of the way they convey the meaning and capture the mode of Arabic passages. For example, verses (or ayât) that talk about the enjoyment of the believers in Paradise are recited differently from those about the suffering of the wicked in Hell. Verses that portray the desperate prayer of a prophet are different from those depicting Pharaoh’s arrogance. We read in Ṣaḥîḥ Muslim that the Prophet (peace be upon him) would pray for Allah’s blessings when reciting verses that talk about Paradise and ask for Allah’s protection when reciting verses that talk about torment.

Unfortunately, the majority of English-speakers don’t get to experience this when listening to existing audio recordings of English translations of the Quran, which pay little to no attention to the flow. Typically, each audio recording is voiced by one male narrator in a very boring and monotone way.

I’m thrilled to introduce the dramatized audio edition of The Clear Quran, featuring a number of voice talents—which, to the best of my knowledge, has never been done before with any translation of the Quran. What makes The Clear Quran fit for this unprecedented project is its ability to reflect some of the beauty of the original in the English language. It’s noted for clarity, accuracy, eloquence, and flow, and has been officially approved by Al-Azhar, and endorsed by the Canadian Council of Imams, as well as many qualified scholars from all over the world.

Moreover, voice talents will enrich dialogues, making them more engaging and lively, in the same way that Arabic reciters reflect the mode of passages with their voices.

To make this experience more immersive, natural sound effects (such as rain, thunder, and horses) are used, along with soothing nasheeds (Islamic melodies) in the background.

This creative project will make the Quran more accessible to millions throughout the world.

We need your help to make this amazing dream a reality.
